Birth & Postpartum Doula/ Childbirth Educator/ Belly Binding
Tanisha Evans-Marin is a Manhattan-based birth and postpartum doula, childbirth educator, and Certified Lactation Counselor with more than 20 years of experience supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum journey.
From an early age, Tanisha dreamed of becoming an obstetrician. After the birth of her own children, however, she realized that what she had long envisioned as medical care was only one piece of the puzzle. Experiencing childbirth without the support of a doula opened her eyes to the gap between the care families often receive and the emotional, physical, and educational support they truly need. She found her calling as a doula, dedicating her career to helping families feel informed, empowered, and cared for throughout one of life's most transformative experiences.
Tanisha believes every birthing person has an innate ability to bring their baby into the world. She approaches each birth without judgment or preconceived expectations, honoring every family's unique goals and choices while prioritizing the safety and well-being of both parent and baby. Known for her calm presence, warmth, and sense of humor, she strives to create a supportive environment where families feel confident, respected, and at peace.
Over the course of her career, Tanisha has attended more than 400 births and provided postpartum support to over 300 families. While based in New York City, she has worked with clients across the United States and internationally, including California and the Netherlands.
Tanisha is certified as a Birth and Postpartum Doula by DONA International (CD, PCD-DONA) and as a Birth Doula by Carriage House Birth (CD-CHB). She is also a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator (LCCE) and a Lactation Counselor. In addition, she is trained in placenta encapsulation, and Malaysian Bengkung belly binding, allowing her to provide comprehensive support tailored to each family's needs.
