Summer Si (she/her) is a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula and Health Educator. Originally from California, she studied Public Health at UC Berkeley, was a “Sexpert” aka a Sexual Health Educator, and her previous role was a Program Manager in a biotech company before deciding to follow her passion and change career paths to become a birthworker. She completed her doula training with Mama Glow in Brooklyn, NY. From promoting reproductive health to learning about the gaps in America’s healthcare system, Summer is passionate about uplifting birthing people to reclaim their bodies as they prepare for their baby to come into this world.
Summer is here to serve birthing people from any and all backgrounds. Combining her experience in health education and program management, Summer will guide and prepare you for what to expect in pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum while also holding space to incorporate your goals and birth preferences. She believes birth is a rite of passage full of power, wisdom, and trust in one’s body. Knowledge is power and her goal is to empower people and equip them with evidence-based information and comfort measures and she will make the education fun and approachable. To Summer, being a doula means showing and guiding people that you can prioritize yourself – your comfort, your safety, your physical and mental health – through birth, one of the most vulnerable and transformative moments in one’s life, and for the rest of your life!
In her downtime, Summer loves trying new restaurants, going to concerts, drawing, crocheting, crafting, doing yoga, and always has a book that she’s currently reading. She is honored to support and take care of birthing people and families as they welcome their newborn baby!
