Birth & Postpartum Doula
There’s no one “right” way to give birth or parent—and Sophia’s work is built around helping birthing people and partners (when present) find what feels safe, aligned, and sustainable for them. As a full-spectrum doula, she supports individuals and families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with informational, emotional, and physical support, blending practical guidance with somatic practices. She works closely with each family to understand what matters most and to help the experience feel less overwhelming and more true to who they are.
Sophia believes in care that makes room for real life, and she aims to be an added layer of support. She’s passionate about creating affirming spaces where birthing people and partners feel seen, supported, and well cared for—work that’s deeply shaped by her commitment to reproductive justice and by the loss of a dear friend in the weeks after they gave birth to their first child. Sophia supports families from all walks of life, and she’s especially drawn to supporting birthing people from marginalized communities, immigrant and first-generation families, and those who want to start building their support team early.
Sophia is a first-generation Haitian-American living in Brooklyn. She loves reading, exploring walkable cities, and having conversations filled with depth and laughter. Outside of doula work, Sophia’s background includes Peace Corps service, clinical research at Hospital for Special Surgery, support for survivors of domestic and sexual violence through Mt. Sinai’s SAVI Program, and building teams and operations at a health tech startup; she currently also works as a coach and organizational consultant. Sophia trained as a doula with Ancient Song Doula Services and is CPR-certified and Spinning Babies trained, with a BA in French Language and Literature from NYU.
