With ties to North Carolina, Iran, and France, Sheyda lives in Brooklyn with her spouse and toddler while supporting families in Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn as a birth and postpartum doula and lactation counselor. Her path to this work began after receiving incredible doula support during the birth of her own child, an experience that inspired her to walk alongside other families in this powerful life transition. Before becoming a doula, Sheyda worked as a textile designer for many years, a background that continues to inform her creativity, patience, and attention to detail in caregiving. Sheyda is passionate about ensuring that parents feel supported, respected, and cared for throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. She provides evidence-based information, emotional steadiness, and practical tools while also connecting families with trusted providers in her network. In addition to one-on-one care, she hosts prenatal and postpartum support groups to foster connection and community. Families who work with Sheyda can feel confident knowing they have a knowledgeable and compassionate partner by their side—someone who values their dignity, honors the sacredness of birth, and provides continuity of care as they welcome their baby earthside.

What families are saying

Sheyda’s support for our family in the postpartum period was extremely valuable. We felt taken care of both physically and emotionally -- she took care of so much from cooking, organizing and baby wearing to feeding and planning ahead. My son loved her, she helped him sleep well and she contributed immensely to our preparation for the next phase of parenthood. We feel so grateful to have met and connected with Sheyda. Any family would be lucky to have her support and guidance. -Lou R.
Sheyda has a rare ability to make you feel deeply cared for, especially if you’re someone who doesn’t naturally ask for help. She has an amazing intuition for knowing what things need to be done or are contributing the most mental burden / stress around the house, and just...does them. She was exactly the kind of support I needed postpartum - utterly supportive / non-judgemental, and somehow made everything feel more manageable. - Jess T.
Christine was a calming voice in the birthing room, and an advocate for me when things got hard. Postpartum she has continued to be a support person as questions have arisen.
