Daytime Postpartum
SJ's postpartum doula offerings are a distillation of her 10+ years of experience as a home-chef, 200-hour Yoga Alliance Teacher Certification, 15+ years in child-care, and lactation training with Francie Webb & Manhattan Birth. SJ brings families a grounded joyful energy, prepares nourishing, slow-cooked, seasonal meals, provides lactation support, offers therapeutic movement/massage and serves as a witness to families during the immediate postpartum period. Whether you are bringing a new child into the world, have had a miscarriage, or need support as a single parent, SJ is eager to lighten your load in your early days postpartum. The postpartum doula track called SJ because 15+ years of babysitting revealed to her that mothers need more support. To SJ, mothers are the foundation of human and ecological well being. Societal demands on mothers to get it all done, be nice to their kids 24/7 and lose baby weight after giving birth make it very hard for mothers to be healthy in mind, body and spirit. If mothers aren’t well, no one is. SJ believes that postpartum doula support has a global ripple effect that not only supports the rest of the family but all those in her sphere of influence and beyond. Postpartum doula support is not just a nice thing to have, it’s a global necessity and it begins in your home.

What families are saying

SJ's presence makes our home feel so grounded and full of care. It feels so good when she is here. All of the things she does to make my life manageable - the food she cooked, all those damn dishes she cleaned, the laundry she folded, fixing the shower rod! I'm trying to put in words how much she means to me. Thank you, SJ! -Vanessa
It is lovely having SJ in our home! I was singing her praises this morning to a friend who is trying to find a postpartum doula! -Grace
Christine was a calming voice in the birthing room, and an advocate for me when things got hard. Postpartum she has continued to be a support person as questions have arisen.
