Hi there, my name is Rigel and I’m a birth and postpartum doula, lactation counselor, and perinatal fitness instructor based in Brooklyn! While I’ve been in NY for 7 years, I grew up playing sports and doing theater in New Hampshire. Years later, I found doula work and fell in love with its intersection of advocacy, education, science, and deep, interpersonal connection with others. My aim is to give my clients as much agency as possible by showing them the array of possibilities that exist for them throughout their perinatal journey. From the moment my clients and I agree to work together, I am available via phone, email, and text to guide you through your pregnancy and postpartum life. Through education, communication, and a guiding hand, we can help you feel grounded, supported, and even joyful while doing so! I have been trained from a trauma-informed, anti-racist, inclusive lens, and support all birthing bodies and experiences. I am a member of the queer community and am also ENM/poly-friendly. I’d love to talk with you to see if we may be a good fit!

What families are saying

My husband and I were both anxious at the beginning of our pregnancy. We met Rigel and after a couple of hours of our first meeting, we both felt completely alleviated of nerves and came away agreeing that we were so, so glad we decided to have a doula, and that we found Rigel. Rigel curated a plethora of information for us to digest over the coming weeks and was always available if we had questions in between our meetings. I did not have a ‘plan a’ labor, but was so glad Rigel was with us to help us through plan b, and then c! It was a tough experience, but somehow still very sweet and that’s thanks to Rigel for being our ally, advocate and comfort all along the way. I absolutely recommend Rigel. You won’t regret or spend a minute questioning your decision to work with her. -Bethany
Having Rigel as our birth doula to accompany us through the birth of our first child was by far the best decision we made during my pregnancy. We instantly felt a connection during our initial meeting and it was clear to us that Rigel understood our needs. She was accessible, easy to get in touch with and eager to provide answers. While we opted to deliver our baby at a hospital (Mt Sinai West), I knew I wanted to have a natural birth with minimal medical interventions. In retrospect, I can say this would never have been possible without Rigel’s support…If you are on the fence about hiring a birth doula, I am confident Rigel will make a strong and positive difference in your birth experience. -Claire
Christine was a calming voice in the birthing room, and an advocate for me when things got hard. Postpartum she has continued to be a support person as questions have arisen.
