My approach is nurturing, proactive, respectful, baby-led care. Naturally a nurturer by nature, my goal is to provide Mothers with real, natural solutions and support during a time where they have to be trusting of themselves, their team and their Babies. I help families create realistic goals that are intentional, educating them to know what to expect so that their journey can be seamless to some degree, allowing them to have more enjoyable experiences with their Babies. Through proactive guidance, parents are adept at intervening before Baby’s limits are reached so that their needs are consistently always met. I work as a team player and keep open communication in order to build trusting and lasting relationships, where all caretakers are continuously aware of Baby and Mother’s overall well-being. I am adaptable to every family’s dynamic, resourceful, committed, professional and always flexible. I strive to go above and beyond expectations. Working as a space-holder for every Mother, I strive to leave families feeling confident, empowered and well-equipped. As a Certified Lactation Counselor and exclusively breastfeeding Mama I am also able to support breastfeeding parents, but support all feeding preferences. My belief is that Babies can thrive optimally by receiving holistic, quality care along with proven scientific methods and my hope is to assist in setting a foundation for children who can be the highest expression of ground, stable, nourished people to create a healthier society.

What families are saying

Melissa worked with us when our first daughter Violet was born in November 2019, and again when our daughter Lucy was born in October 2022. She's the person who taught us how to burp a newborn, how to give them a bath, how to calm them during colicky spells (Violet was VERY colicky for weeks), and how to get them on a schedule. As someone who was very focused on wake windows and making sure that we were establishing good sleep habits, I was so grateful that Melissa was so focused on this. She kept a notebook and fastidiously recorded their sleep, toileting, and milestones, and was always an extremely prompt and reliable communicator. We trusted her completely. Aside from taking care of our daughters, she also kept their nurseries extremely organized, and was incredibly tidy herself. She never left a trace when she went home in the morning. Unrelated to our experience with Melissa as a newborn care specialist, but as a testament to her good judgement, she also introduced us to the person who is now our nanny, and who has been such a great fit for our family. Any new parent would be lucky to have Melissa taking care of their baby. I'm so grateful that we had the opportunity to work with her, and that we remain in frequent touch with her to this day! -M. Garber, Prospect Heights
Thank you SO much Melissa for everything!! You were so amazing and we are so sad to not have you with us anymore. I told Luke I wish we had connected earlier! Thank you for all of your advice for not only Rosie but also myself. Having someone be so knowledgeable and caring made this such a positive week. I’ll definitely write a letter of recommendation and hope to connect again soon! -A. Schuster, West Village
Christine was a calming voice in the birthing room, and an advocate for me when things got hard. Postpartum she has continued to be a support person as questions have arisen.
