Birth Doula, Integrated Feeding & Lactation Specialist
Birth Doula
Luna has been fascinated by birth ever since she was privy to my sister’s homebirth at four years old. After witnessing her sister's journey through NYU’s midwifery program — many years later :) — she was inspired to embark on her own odyssey as a labor and birth doula. She is now a Brooklyn-based doula, serving clients throughout the boroughs. Luna has a background in writing, journalism, illustration, and research — all skills that rely on communication and interpersonal sensitivity. Her work has always been aided by her ability to listen, understand, and center the stories and needs of others. She strives to be a strong, empathetic, and client-centered communicator. As an athlete from a young age, Luna also understands the process of physically and emotionally preparing for a major event, caring for one’s body, and coaching from both sides of the “field.” She has been coached and knows how to coach—when to push someone, when to encourage them, and when to support rest. Luna believes that birth can — and should — be empowering, beautiful, and creative. Her job, as a doula, is to understand your birth vision and do everything in her power to help you realize it — while also supporting you in making informed decisions if and when the need arises. She is comfortable assisting you in a hospital, birth center, or homebirth setting. She also offers virtual support. Luna doesn't think there is any "right" way to birth and looks forward to elevating your voice and preferences as you embark on this journey.

What families are saying

It's difficult to convey just how much we appreciated Luna as a doula, throughout pregnancy, labor and birth. From the beginning, she was the soul of calm: gentle, inquisitive and deeply nonjudgmental as she asked my birthing partner and me (nonbirthing) about our preferences. She helped us learn about physiology of birth such that we felt very prepared once my partner went into labor. And when my partner went into labor, Luna was there to help support us, physically and emotionally. During early labor she fostered a calm and supportive atmosphere and as labor progressed she helped my partner remain as comfortable as possible, with massage and exercises that regularized her contractions. She was wonderful at the hospital, too, comforting both of us as we navigated a really tricky bureaucracy. I could not imagine a better caregiver. I would strongly, strongly recommend her to anyone considering hiring a doula — and even to anyone who is not. -J.B.
Luna is a passionate, supportive and deeply invested doula. Her knowledge is wide ranging and full of depth and she offers many perspectives. She’s incredibly supportive and when I went through tricky situations, I always felt seen and empowered, never judged. She was a warm presence, is intuitive and has a great sense of humor. I felt at total ease with her and always looked forward to our visits. She offered a lightness to many intense situations I had to navigate. Luna was with my husband and I during birth and I’m incredibly grateful for her, especially during this time, as my labor took a very intense turn towards the end. While my husband took care of our baby, Luna was by my side, holding my hand, offering me a sense of safety and care that will stay with me forever. She also came to the birth with tools and offered amazing hands on physical support throughout the birthing process. Luna is a special doula & I highly recommend her and would not go through pregnancy without her. -N.G.
Christine was a calming voice in the birthing room, and an advocate for me when things got hard. Postpartum she has continued to be a support person as questions have arisen.
