Birth Doula, Postpartum Doula, Overnight Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Massage Therapist, and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC)
Kalifa Doucet brings over ten years of experience as a birth and postpartum doula, blending both traditional wisdom and modern practices to support families during one of life’s most transformative journeys. She has trained and volunteered in diverse birth settings—from assisting midwives at the Brooklyn Birthing Center to extending her training at the indigenous birthing center, Bumi Sehat, in Bali. These experiences deepened her appreciation for community-centered care and taught her the importance of honoring both cultural traditions and individual family choices.
Her approach is rooted in compassion, presence, and trust. Kalifa believes birth is a sacred and powerful transition, and she is committed to creating a space where families feel grounded, supported, and informed. Whether guiding a birthing parent through labor with steady reassurance, offering overnight postpartum care to nurture rest, or preparing nourishing plant-based meals for recovery, she meets each family with respect for their unique needs and rhythms. She also integrates massage and gentle bodywork, including postpartum gua sha and baby massage instruction, to encourage healing, bonding, and relaxation.
Kalifa’s philosophy is centered on empowerment and connection—reminding families of their own strength while providing practical tools and emotional support. She believes that when families are cared for with warmth and intentionality, they can enter parenthood with greater confidence, resilience, and peace. Through her doula work, she strives to not only support individual clients, but also to contribute to a larger culture of community, care, and respect for all birthing people.
