What families are saying

To Whom It May Concern, I am incredibly delighted to recommend Johanna Forney, who worked with our family from April 2024 through September 2024 caring for our twin boys in our Beverly Hills home. Our twins were born 6 weeks premature from high risk pregnancy, and came home from the NICU with a range of needs. Johanna handled every aspect of their care with confidence and expertise, while working seamlessly for 18-20 hours a day for the first 4 months. From managing complex feeding challenges, to supporting physical therapy exercises and recognizing early signs of reflux and discomfort, Johanna consistently stayed one step ahead. Her attentiveness and skill not only kept our boys happy, but also helped them thrive exponentially, something even our pediatrician noted many times throughout their first 6 months of life. Johanna proved to be an exceptional Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula, with her extensive knowledge of all aspects of newborn care, and her dedication to care of my boys. From the very beginning, she helped identify any and all ‘nontypical’ newborn care issues; such as signs of digestion issues from formula, skin rashes to call the doctor about, and being able to decipher the difference between diaper rash vs yeast infection etc. Johanna’s clear education and dedication, gave me full confidence in trusting her to make day to day choices for the twins, based on her judgment. Her ability to balance the ‘need to know’ details vs less important parts of their daily routine was incredibly important, especially while I was healing from back surgery. Whenever any unexpected circumstances arose, including my need for emergency back surgery, Johanna went above and beyond to help not only myself, but my family, to make sure our house ran smoothly in my hard days of surgery recovery.. She had no problem extending her time with us and adjusting her plans to support our family, which I am so grateful for even now. During my recovery, she seamlessly took on additional responsibilities, ensuring the boys were cared for, while also keeping me involved in their day to day. Her ability to balance compassion with capability made an incredibly difficult period much easier for all of us. Beyond her technical expertise, Johanna is simply a wonderful person to live and work with. She is kind, patient, and intuitive, with a natural ability to connect with children, which is evident from her 15 year long professional nanny career. She also played a meaningful role in helping our toddler adjust to her new siblings, fostering a strong and loving bond between the 3 children, while always making our toddler feel included and special. Thanks to Johanna’s care, our boys are now thriving, happy, and hitting their milestones. We are endlessly grateful for the foundation she helped create during those early months. I cannot recommend her highly enough; any family would be incredibly lucky to have her working with them in the delicate early days of the postpartum period. K.P.
I am so pleased to recommend Johanna Forney, who supported our family as a Postpartum Newborn Care Specialist from December 2025 through March 2026 in Denver, Colorado. During that time, she lived in our home and cared for our newborn overnight, while also offering invaluable support during my postpartum recovery. From the start, Johanna brought a sense of calm, confidence, and warmth that made those early months feel far more manageable and supported. Her presence felt both reassuring and genuinely caring, which made a lasting impact during a vulnerable time. Each night, Johanna thoughtfully managed our baby’s care from every angle; from feeding to bathing to sleep routines, she always worked with the attentiveness and consistency of a seasoned professional. She was incredibly helpful in highlighting what was typical in the early newborn days (such as a small diaper rash) or when we should call the doctor (a yeast infection), which is so crucial when it’s been a few years since having a baby in the house. She was equally supportive of my personal recovery, especially in the weeks following my C-section, always making sure I had everything I needed during the night, whether it was help with feeding and latching, milk production, helping keeping track of medications, or simply having water and snacks within reach. One of Johanna’s greatest strengths is her depth of knowledge and her ability to share it in a way that feels approachable and empowering. She took the time to explain routines and techniques, helping us understand not just what to do, but why it mattered. She easily adapted to our household systems and kept everything running smoothly, including logging updates in our tracking app so that everyone involved in our baby’s care stayed informed and aligned. Johanna also went above and beyond in ways that truly reflected her thoughtfulness. She created a detailed “baby 101 guide” for our daytime nanny and visiting family members, which was incredibly helpful in maintaining consistency. When our baby’s schedule was a bit more predictable, she even helped with light meal prep, as well as making her now famous Miss Jojo’s Lactation Cookies. Beyond her knowledge of newborn and postpartum care, Johanna was wonderful with our toddler as well, stepping in with patience and ease whenever needed, which created an instant kinship with our toddler, who became her little shadow very quickly. We feel incredibly grateful to have had Johanna with us during such a special and important time. She brings together education, experience, intention, and genuine compassion in a way that is truly rare to find. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any family looking for knowledgeable, dependable, and truly caring support. Johanna’s easy going nature, caring presence and deep compassion will be so missed in our household in the coming weeks and months, but we hope she’ll come to visit soon. M.N.
Christine was a calming voice in the birthing room, and an advocate for me when things got hard. Postpartum she has continued to be a support person as questions have arisen.
