Jessica Wentling

Jess's postpartum practice melds theory and practicality - she helps parents understand their new addition and battle google overwhelm, and attends to the physical needs of the whole family. Whether it’s understanding the reason for a baby’s cry or rearranging a space to support new rhythms, Jess works with families to translate their vision for parenthood into reality. She aims to increase your confidence and allow you to be beautifully present during the postpartum months.

Jess holds a BA in Public Health from Davidson College and a Masters in Educational Psychology from Hunter College. She has conducted research on the care of infants with a focus on attachment issues and written a thesis on the schooling needs of refugee children. Jess worked in school leadership for several years, ensuring students had the tools to succeed in the classroom by managing special education and student achievement. In addition to her doula training, Jess has a certificate in Integrated Feeding & Lactation, has completed two years of the Manhattan Birth mentorship, and continues to learn from families, fellow doulas, and additional coursework.
As a doula, Jess provides evidence-based information and practical tips that ease the adjustment to parenthood and help you understand infant development more broadly. As an educator, caregiver, and doula Jess has worked with hundreds of families and knows how to support each member's needs and the household as a whole. She has dedicated her educational and professional career to understanding and supporting the structures that help children thrive. Jess understands the unique challenges and beauty of the postpartum time, and she provides the practical and emotional support needed in order to embrace this wonderful transition.
