Jessica Smiley is a doula with nearly a decade of experience supporting families through the tender transitions of early parenthood. As the youngest of eight siblings, she witnessed many paths into parenthood firsthand—each shaped by different needs, values, and challenges. In 2005, Jessica began her journey in family care at her first job through a nonprofit role coordinating resources and lactation support for at-risk families. Her passion and commitment to the field truly came alive after giving birth to her first child in 2014, becoming a childbirth educator and doula soon after. She has since supported families across a wide range of circumstances—from first-time parents, queer and single parents by choice to those navigating NICU stays, multiples, as well as a range of feeding or sleep concerns. Jessica works with families to establish simple sustainable care practices, finding the rhythm that suits their family best, so they can feel supported long after her time with them is complete! Her approach is grounded in helping parents feel more confident, rested, and seen through her empathetic presence - weaving practical solutions with culturally aware care.

What families are saying

Jessica came highly recommended by another twin mom, and I’m so glad I reached out. Coming home from the NICU, I was exhausted and overwhelmed. She helped simplify everything—from feeding support to tandem holds—and made sure I felt seen and supported through it all. Her compassion, patience, and advocacy helped me trust myself again. I’m still using what she taught me every day. Forever grateful for her presence during our fourth trimester! Malika
We had no idea what we were in for coming home with a newborn. I thought we just needed help burping and swaddling—but Jess offered so much more. Her calm, steady support helped us rest, feel grounded, and gain confidence. She truly listened and met us where we were, and even helped my husband become a pro at baby care…I would hire her again a million times over. Jen
Christine was a calming voice in the birthing room, and an advocate for me when things got hard. Postpartum she has continued to be a support person as questions have arisen.
