She/Her

Postpartum Doula
Amanda Sorel was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. Before becoming a postpartum doula, she spent two decades in the art world, building a career working directly with artists to realize ambitious public projects internationally. Throughout her career, she has worked with a wide range of artists and has been a committed advocate for equal access.
Amanda began to transition into maternal support in 2024. Having always valued building community, she started a mutual support network for expecting and new mothers in her neighborhood. What began as a small group blossomed into nearly 80 members, creating space for collaboration and connection among parents navigating early motherhood together.
After the birth of her daughter, she saw, firsthand, how little support exists on the other side of pregnancy, especially for those whose experience was difficult or traumatic. She came to believe that the truest form of art isn't in a gallery. It's in building the kind of inclusive community and support that helps someone feel less alone in their recovery. Her practice is centered on providing the tools and guidance for new mothers to build confidence in their caretaking, to feel empowered to seek help when needed, and to feel supported and heard. Amanda's main goal is to create a balanced space centered on both maternal recovery and bonding with the baby. She partners with families to cut through the fear-based marketing that often targets new mothers, offering evidence-based knowledge and steady advocacy.
Amanda brings the same patience, compassion, and confident guidance to every family she supports that she once brought to the artists and institutions she worked with, along with a genuine understanding of what recovery may require.
