natasha's bio

Natasha is a highly-experienced Certified Advanced Postpartum Doula who deeply understands how exciting, vulnerable, and challenging the Fourth Trimester can be. She has supported hundreds of new parents and growing families since she began this work in 2012. She also has two children of her own.

Adapting to life with a newborn takes time, loving-kindness, patience, and, as the wise ancient proverb goes, “a village." Natasha became a postpartum doula and a lactation counselor after the birth of her second child to help change the go-it-alone landscape of postpartum care in America. It is her mission to help families with newborns feel supported, cared for, and confident. She believes this support is essential to the well-being of our families, culture, and the planet. She wears many hats on the job: grandparent, lactation counselor, healer, newborn expert, baby wearer, sleep specialist, sounding board, babysitter, housekeeper, chef, nutrition guide, dog walker, companion, cheerleader, and more! Her goal is to give families, in particular birthing parents, the support they need, physically and emotionally, to connect with their baby(ies), get on their feet, and thrive—long past the Fourth Trimester. In a nutshell, she is the village.

She lives in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn, NY with her husband, two daughters, and beloved Bernedoodle. She enjoys long walks in nature, hot cups of tea, meaningful conversation, and cooking healthy, delicious, and nutritious foods for her family, friends, and postpartum clients.

 What Others Are Saying

Of the ten doulas my husband and I worked with, Natasha stood apart as the golden standard for modern doula support. I suffered from intense prenatal depression before the birth of my first son. Through bewildered tears and panic, Natasha gently assured me it she had my back. It sounds corny, but I knew she did and I trusted her from that moment on. Her nurturing, intuitive, informed, holistic approach helped me grow in confidence as a first-time mom and then again when we welcomed our second son. Natasha listened compassionately when I described all the new (and sometimes painful!) changes to my body. She prepared us for milestones and offered knowledgeable, holistic advice for anything that came up day-to-day: Diaper rash, baby scalp flakes, split nipples, cluster feeding, and on and on. Natasha's cooking is divine! She has a gift for making something—legit—incredible out of "nothing in the fridge." Each time I roast a chicken and sweet potatoes, I do it the way she made it for me. So comforting and delicious.

In the overwhelming early days of new parenthood, my husband and I (and even the baby I suspect) let out a collective exhale every time Natasha walked in the door. Her calm energy and words of encouragement and support instantly put me at ease and helped build my confidence as a first-time mom. Although I really just wanted Natasha to tell me exactly what to do and when, she gently guided me to trust my intuition and never pushed her opinions and approaches on us. Beyond the emotional support provided, she was also fantastic at helping my husband get our house back in order, and at keeping us fed and watered. Our son also struggled with breastfeeding/latching issues resulting in slow weight gain which Natasha patiently supported us through for weeks. I could not recommend her enough and we would not hesitate to welcome her into our home again.

As a second-time mom, I thought I had it all under control and was not ready for how hard it ended up being. I’m so grateful I had Natasha’s support! I felt comfortable with her—almost like a big sister—from day 1, with her emotional support, practical help, and GREAT food. She was kind and caring with a sense of humor and a level of honesty that I really appreciated. I struggled with aspects of my recovery, and Natasha helped me navigate everything from managing pelvic floor issues to making sense of conflicting advice from medical professionals. She gave me compassion and care, but also realism when I most needed it. More than once, I found myself opening up to her about things I struggled to talk about, even with my husband and mother.
