Founded in 2013 by Jennifer Mayer, Emily Crocker, and London King- we set out to create highly personalized, compassionate and evidence based doula support for families in New York City. We call ourselves Baby Caravan because our goal is offer you a team - your own caravan - of experts to help you navigate the landscape of pregnancy and beyond. This landscape may be entirely unfamiliar or one that you would like to experience differently this time around.
JENNIFER MAYER, OWNER
Jen is the mother of two year old Oliver and has been a practicing doula for over 12 years. She brings her background as a Licensed Massage Therapist, Certified Holistic Health Coach into her doula work.
In 2013 she created Baby Caravan, a group doula practice and online community focused on education and compassionate support, that guides women on the life-changing journey of motherhood. She lives in Brooklyn, New York with her husband, son and two cats.
SASHA WEIGEL, MANAGER
Sasha began her journey into the world of birth nearly a decade ago when she became a certified birth doula with Doulas of North America (DONA). She pursued a Bachelor's of Nursing degree in 2010 and became a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2012. She worked as a Labor & Delivery and Postpartum nurse at NYU Langone Medical Center for almost 4 years. She is now the Manager of Baby Caravan and continues to work as a birth doula, a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC), and is in the Midwifery Masters program at NYU with a projected graduation date of May 2018.
