Anna's bio
Anna believes that a thriving family is bedrock for everything we hold dear, individually and collectively. Through her work with families, her studies, and her own experiences, she has come to appreciate how multi-dimensional the transition to parenthood is, and how abundant loving care and attention can make a tremendous difference to all involved.
She completed birth and postpartum doula training through Doulas of North America in 2012. In 2013 she became a certified lactation counselor through the Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice. She has attended over 200 births in hospitals, homes, and birthing centers throughout New York City. From 2013-2016 she was a volunteer full-spectrum doula with the Doula Project. She is a certified INNATE Postpartum Care provider and a Going with Grace trained end of life doula. She is mentored by Britta Bushnell.
She holds a BFA in dance from SUNY Purchase and was a professional dancer for 13 years. She is a mother of two forces of nature. Her own two births, and especially her own two postpartum experiences, were deeply transformative, eye opening and life altering.
She loves art, music, trees, pollinators, cooking, quiet, books, podcasts, rugs, tea, bicycling, the beach, sunshine and rain storms.
