Sasha Weigel, CNM, CLC, Certified Birth Doula
I began my journey into the world of birth 11 years ago. I was certified as a doula with Doulas of North America (DONA) in 2009, and became a Certified Lactation Counselor since 2011. In 2003, I received my first Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History at Skidmore College and returned to NYU College of Nursing for a Bachelor of Nursing in 2011. I received my license as a Registered Nurse (RN) also in 2011. I worked at NYU Langone Medical Center/Tisch Hospital for nearly 4 years as both a Labor & Delivery RN as well as a Postpartum RN. I completed my Masters of Midwifery graduate program at NYU College of Nursing in May 2018 and I'm now a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM). I also am a birth assistant (BA) for homebirth midwife Andrea Diamond in Brooklyn.
I have completed my training in Perinatal Havening for the healing of trauma, and will become a certified practitioner within the calendar year. I am also trained in Spinning Babies techniques and homeopathy for childbirth.
I have had the honor of attending several hundred deliveries at this point in my career, and each one has been beautiful, meaningful and unique.
I live with my husband Asch, my son Wells, and my dog Mimi, in Park Slope, Brooklyn. When I am not assisting women and their families or playing trains with my beloved son, I love spending time hiking, painting and making music.
