Leigh was born and raised in the mountains of the Virginia, but has made New York City her home for the past decade. After graduating from James Madison University with a BS in Psychology, and years hustling in ‘Corporate America,’ the birth of her son changed her path abruptly, and she has been an avid Doula and Birth Worker ever since.

Leigh is continually inspired by her clients and is always looking for new ways to support each family’s unique transition into this next stage of life. She is the Founder of the Healing Your Birth workshops in Astoria, Queens, which encourage new mothers to process and heal from birth trauma. She is trained in The Havening Techniques, and has frequently used this method to help with anxiety before/during labor and birth, and aide with rest during the labor process. Other than being utmost professional, Leigh is calm, patient, loving and an expert in her field. She strives to support all types of birth environments, ensuring the mother is doing what she feels is best for her and her baby(ies). She believes the mother experiences just as much transition into a new world as the baby who is leaving her womb, and both need to be delicately and confidently cared for.

We cannot imagine what labor would have been like without Leigh there. Her presence was incredibly calming and reassuring.

My partner and I would recommend Leigh to anyone considering having a Doula for their birth experience. She is full of knowledge, resources, and encouraging words to make the experience so much easier.
