Erin, Birth & Postpartum Doula, CLC, Back-to-Work Specialist
Erin graduated from Ohio University with a degree in Accounting, Economics and International Business and spent her first career as a CPA in tax consulting for a large public accounting firm. However, it was not until the events of her first child’s birth, culmination of that first year of motherhood (oh the many highs and lows!), and a subsequent miscarriage that provided perspective and propelled her to change career paths. Ultimately, she wanted to spend more of her days (and nights) providing unbiased and compassionate support to expecting and new families in NYC. Erin recognizes how better support, guidance and access to evidence based information and community resources can result in a more positive and empowering pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience.
Erin completed her birth and postpartum doula trainings through DONA International. She is a Certified Lactation Counselor through The Academy of Lactation Policy & Practice, and is a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist through International Placenta & Postpartum Association (IPPA). Most recently, Erin completed the midwifery assistant workshop at The Farm under Ina May Gaskin’s team of midwives.
A born and bred Midwesterner and having spent several years living abroad in Australia, she is proud to call NYC home now for nearly 10 years. She lives in Brooklyn with her husband James, children Adelaide & Torren, and one-eyed Boston Terrier, Joker. Erin is blessed and honored to support each family’s journey during this special time.
