Elisabeth, Birth Doula
Elisabeth provides a calm, perceptive and grounding presence in her work as a birth doula. She values personal connection and takes the time to learn about her clients individual needs so she can help them feel prepared and informed as they explore new spaces around birth. Elisabeth encourages her clients to create their own definitions of a positive birth and is committed to helping them find clarity amongst the abundance of choices that are available to them.
Growing up in NYC has shaped her belief in the importance of building a birth community where people of all identities, races, faiths and abilities are valued for their choices and are given access to the type of support they need. Elisabeth fully believes in all of her clients and empowers them to trust themselves, connect to their bodies and use their breath as they make the transformation to becoming a parent.
In addition to being a trained Birth Doula (DONA International), Elisabeth is a Postpartum Doula (Carriage House Birth), a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor (CBC), a Hypnobirthing Doula and a volunteer for Visiting Nurse Service of NY where she spends time with people in hospice care. Elisabeth graduated from Parsons with a BFA in Communication Design. Before taking on birth work full time she spent many years painting for MQuan Ceramics Studio while also maintaining a personal illustration practice of her own. Some of her most joyful moments are spent hiking along rivers in the North West and preparing meals that fully support the mind and body.
