Our birth doulas work in teams of two. We want you to feel supported in all ways during this exciting and vulnerable time of pregnancy, birth and postpartum. We believe that the design of having a team of two surpasses the support of having just one doula.
First, two doulas bring two perspectives, two backgrounds and double the exposure and experience of attending births. They each may have different certifications, education and training. You can benefit from both of these voices and knowledge because they will attend both of your prenatal visits, postpartum visit as well as any and all contact in between.
Second, this is a built-in backup system. By the time you go into labor, you will know and be comfortable with both of your doulas equally. When you go into labor, one of them will join you and stay with you for the duration of your delivery and birth. Because occasionally unforeseen emergencies and unexpected complications such as two mothers simultaneously going into labor are a reality, we feel strongly that a solid back-up system is vital. This is why we want you to know both your doulas well, so that no matter what happens outside of your birth room, you can count on always having one of your doulas available for you, no matter what.
Doulas can be whatever you need them to be. They are the embodiment of support and constancy, available in all ways whenever they are needed. We’d love to meet you, learn about your birth vision and how we can support you and your family during this special time.
