Amanda, Birth & Postpartum Doula, CBC, Certified Prenatal Yoga Instructor

Amanda is a DONA trained Birth Doula and CAPPA trained Postpartum Doula. After giving birth to her two sons naturally, Amanda was incredibly humbled and empowered by what her body could do. This inspiration planted the seed to help other women discover their strength, before and after birth, no matter how they choose to do so. She sees in her work, that supporting a woman without judgment during this powerful time is incredibly therapeutic in coping with the challenges of motherhood.

Amanda has a Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation and has worked as a therapist in a specialty hospital, rehab center, and long term care for ten years before entering in the birth field. Amanda is trained in Vinyasa Yoga and Prenatal Yoga and believes it is one of many ways to prepare for labor as well as offer a community for new mothers. Amanda lives in Brooklyn with her husband and two boys and tries to instill strength, gratitude and empathy in her children. She loves being outside, hiking, gardening, running, and feeling the sun on her face.

Amanda is so wonderful! During the time she works with us, she listens to us, provides the support that we need, and shares her knowledge, all to help us transition smoothly into parenthood. She answers questions in person, on the phone and via text messages. My husband and I could not imagine giving birth and transitioning into parenthood without her. She has been wonderful throughout the entire process. I highly recommend her as a birth doula and postpartum doula.
